Notebook hard drives often include a ‘caddie’ which may make the drive look significantly different than the images above. The caddies are usually simple to remove (2-4 screws) from the drive and reuse. If necessary remove the caddie from the drive to help identify which drive is required. |
Upgrading your Notebook Hard Drive
So you have your new hard drive. Now how do you transfer all of the information from old old drive to the new one? Easy! Just use one of Apricorn's Notebook Upgrade Kits.
Depending on whether you have chosen a 5,400 RPM drive or a high performance 7,200 RPM drive, you will need a different upgrade kit. Please refer to the table below to find the best upgrade kit for you. |

Due to the higher spin rate of a high performance 7,200 RPM drive, you will need an upgrade kit with an AC Apdapter for additional power, such as the DriveWire or Xtreme Upgrade Kit. |
